The Quarterly Get-Together Brunch for Peace and Justice Groups is from 10 a.m.-noon July 8 at Peaslee Neighborhood Center. Abdul Bilal will give a presentation on the theme, "Violence among African American males: Its causes and what can be done to address it and resolve it." Support for Darfur

Kids Experience the Environment

Ecology Camp is an opportunity for boys and girls ages 8-12 to spend the morning outdoors learning about sensory awareness, animal habitat, plants, insects and earth care partners. The program meets July 31-Aug.4 4 and Aug. 9-12. Come with water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellant. A fee of $50 is due one week prior to the event.

Help Struggling Siblings

In April, Brayden Dunn was diagnosed with Down syndrome at the age of 7 months. This isn't the first struggle his family has encountered. His older sister, Hailey, who is 2, was diagnosed a few months after birth with craniosynostosis. She endured weeks of testing as well as painful surgery to remove a potion of her skull to help her to head to grow and form to a normal size. A benefit dance and silent auction to help the family will be from 7-11 p.m. June 16 at The Grove in Springfield Township. A $20 donation includes appetizers and a raffle. Training for Political Activists

As activists and organizations train, recruit and prepare for the November elections, the America Votes Coalition and the AFL-CIO offer campaign training from 10 a.m.-4 pm June 17. Mayor Holds Community Meetings

Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory has been holding a series of town-hall-style Neighbor-to-Mayor Community Forums, designed to give citizens an opportunity to share their concerns, hopes and ideas on important issues facing the city. The next topic will be health care, in a meeting at 5 p.m. June 29 at Memorial Hall in Over-the-Rhine.

Eat and Educate Yourself

Family Service offers a Lunch and Learn Series for downtown professionals over the lunch hour. This is a light-hearted yet educational, interactive series. The next seminar, "Balance your Budget," is from 12:05 p.m. to 12:55 p.m. June 14 at Family Service's downtown location, 200 McFarland Ave., just off Elm Street between Fourth and Fifth streets. Starting in early June the Hamilton County Democratic Party will be conducting voter contact every day. The party will be running phone banks and canvasses from June to November to engage Democrats, identify supporters, persuade voters and get out the vote. Cincinnati Goes Global

Learn about U.S. foreign policy and discuss global issues at Clifton United Methodist Church's "Great Decisions" series. The program is 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays through June 14. Discussion topics include UN reform, the United States and Iran, energy resources, Brazil, human rights in an age of terrorism, China and India, Turkey and pandemics and national security. Spanish Bilingual Coffee Hours

Share some caffeine with Spanish speakers at the Bilingual Coffee Hour at the Price Hill Branch Library at 6:30 p.m. every other Monday. Spanish speakers practice their English, and the English speakers practice their Spanish. The head librarian speaks both, and she facilitates.
