Don't Tell Gordon

Peace activists are planning a surprise party for Gordon Maham, who will be 90 years old next month. Maham, a conscientious objector who served three years in federal prison during World War II, has been a tireless worker for an end to the nuclear arms race. The party is at 1 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Community Church of Cincinnati, 932 Dayton St. in the West End. If you are able, take a vegetarian/vegan dish to share.

Communicating Peace

The Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center hosts the Nonviolent Communication Workshop from 7-9 p.m. Jan. 8, 15 and 22. Sister Carol Brenner, SC, leads the program. The fee for all 3 sessions is $40, or $35 if paid by Jan. 2. For information, write [email protected].

Democrats Recruiting Neighborhood Contacts

The Hamilton County Democratic Party is looking for volunteers to serve as precinct executives, who are members of the party's Central Committee and liaisons to their respective neighborhoods. To apply, call Chandra Yungbluth at 513-421-0495 or visit Don't Tell Gordon
