The Northern Kentucky Pride Center organized a weekend of events to begin Pride month.

June 1 marks the official beginning of LGBTQ+ Pride Month and every year NKY Pride leads Greater Cincinnati in celebration with its beloved parade and Hotel Covington afterparty, among other festivities.

Since the 1969 Stonewall uprising, which ignited a movement in pursuit of equal rights for LQBTQ+ individuals, June has been the month to honor and commemorate Pride.

The NKY Pride Center’s official Pride kickoff is at Braxton Brewing Company in Covington on June 1. The Braxton Rooftop will host a drag show and the release of Braxton’s Pride Watermelon Radler. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

The Pride Center refreshed colorful crosswalks that represent Pride at the intersection of Bakewell and Seventh streets in preparation for the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 4. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. on Madison Avenue and ends in Mainstrasse.

NKY Pride 2023 Events Lineup:
"At a time when the rights of LGBTQA+ individuals are under attack across the nation and within the Commonwealth of Kentucky, it is more important than ever for our community to come together and be seen," said Dr. Bonnie Meyer, president of the NKY Pride Center in a press release. "Pride is an opportunity to celebrate, but also to advocate for equity and inclusion for all LGBTQA+ members of the Northern Kentucky community."
