Alumni of Cincinnati Young People’s Theater (CYPT), which celebrated three decades of summertime shows last August, will be gathering on Tuesday at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts to catch up and entertain an eager audience of friends, admirers and others who have been involved in some of the more than 50 shows the group has produced. Over the years more than 1,000 actors, dancers, stage managers, tech staff and musicians have been part of CYPT with lots of them going on to professional careers in the field of entertainment. A lot of them will be back to perform a series of showstoppers and favorite numbers for a crowd at Covedale Center. The concert is a benefit to support the ongoing program. The evening begins with a happy hour at 6:30 p.m. (it’s an additional $10 beyond the admission price, covering two drinks and appetizers); the concert is 90 minutes, from 7:30-9 p.m. After that is a cast party until midnight. If you’re an alum, you’ll want to be there — and if you’re not, it’s still a great evening’s entertainment between the holidays.
