For something completely different, I urge you to take in a performance of this unusual effort. Know commissioned playwrights Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek to create theatrical monologues from writing posted on a website by Afghan women who gather online and in “writing huts” in undisclosed locations in Kabul and Heart where they are mentored by American women writers and professors. Know’s Eric Vosmeier says, “I wanted our audiences to hear these women. Their stories are touching and horrifying, funny and thoughtful. Some of the writers put their lives in danger just to write, let alone to upload their stories. They deserve to be heard by as many people as possible.” Know is partnering with Women Writing for a Change and Women Helping Women for this production; post-show discussions happen after selected performances. Thursday, March 8 through Sunday, March 11. This weekend only. $18. Know Theatre, Over-the-Rhine. 513-300-5669.
