Did you see Carrie Underwood in the December telecast of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music? You can compare her performance (thought to be a tad wooden by many viewers) with that of Abigail Paschke, as Maria, the singing nun who enchants the children of a stern, widowed father. She’ll perform with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra in a “lightly staged production” of the Golden Age musical at The Carnegie in Covington. Paschke, a master’s grad of UC’s College-Conservatory of Music, has played four of the five Von Trapp family girls. This is her first time as Maria.
