Carmen is coming and you don’t have tickets or, perhaps more accurately, you don’t have the funds required to purchase said tickets. It’s OK — this is where Cincinnati Opera has thought things through. Opera in the Park is starting its season with a free outdoor concert in Washington Park that will feature operatic selections from its upcoming season performed by the stars of those soon-to-be-staged shows. The Cincinnati Opera Chorus and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will contribute to pieces from Carmen, Madame Butterfly, West Side Story, La Bohème, La Traviata and others.
