Paddington

From co-writer (along with Hamish McColl) and director Paul King (Bunny and the Bull), we get a live-action translation of Paddington, the story of a Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) in search of a home. The young bear winds up in London, abandoned and alone, until he encounters the Brown family — Mr. Brown (Hugh Bonneville), Mrs. Brown (Sally Hawkins) and their children (Samuel Joslin and Madeleine Harris) — who name him after a train stop, take him in temporarily and seek to keep him safe. For such family fare, it is impressive to find heavy hitters like Julie Walters, Imelda Staunton, Michael Gambon, Jim Broadbent and Nicole Kidman lending their credibility.
