Will construction ever end near the Brent Spence Bridge?

Not this weekend.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says portions of I-75 South will be closed on May 13 and May 14 while teams resurface the highway.

According to a release, "single and double-lane closures will be in place between the Western Hills Viaduct and the Brent Spence Bridge approach beginning at 9 p.m. (May 13). The double-lane closure will be lifted at 5 a.m. Saturday, May 14, and the single-lane closure will be lifted by 6 a.m."

The crew, Barrett Paving Materials, began work on portions of I-75 North earlier this week, with closures and restrictions occurring between the bridge and the viaduct on that side of the highway until the morning of May 13.

Barrett was awarded the $8.6 million project to "mill and fill mainline I-75 and the ramps between the Brent Spence approach and the Western Hills Viaduct," per the release. ODOT says the project is slated to be complete this fall.

ODOT says "traffic will be maintained through the work zone," but that drivers should use caution.
