The Lenten season kicks off with this Kevin Reynolds (former Kevin Costner partner-in-crime on Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Waterworld) interpretation of the story of Jesus Christ and the Resurrection as told from the perspective of a Roman non-believer named Clavius (Joseph Fiennes). He, along with his aid Lucius (Tom Felton), is tasked with debunking the potential conspiracy to create an enduring mythology around the Jewish figure and stymie a possible insurrection with him as a martyred leader. The film’s tagline dares us to “witness the manhunt that changed the course of human history.” (Opens wide Friday) PG-13) Not screened in time for review
