Aardman team writers Mark Burton (Chicken Run) and Richard Starzak (Wallace & Gromit: The Aardman Collection) co-pilot the company’s latest animated production, the misadventures of a sheep named Shaun (voiced by Justin Fletcher). Shaun longs for the carefree days of old with his Farmer (John Sparkes) and the farm dog Trumper (Omid Djalili) before the grinding routine set in, and hatches a plan that sets the flock and the farmer on course for a raucous big-city trip that changes everything. Kids will certainly love the hijinks, but parents, especially members of Generation X, might want to join in for a movie that subtly and shrewdly revisits the John Hughes classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. (Now in theaters) (PG) Grade: B+
