Humana announced Wednesday that they'll be adding 700 jobs to their Cincinnati operations by 2010. With the struggling economy, this is welcome news.—-

• The new Humana regional headquarters, which employees around 700 people currently, will be located at the corner of Eden Park Drive and Gilbert Avenue.
• The Louisville-based company has roughly 1.5 million medical members in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, according to Business First.
• CEO Michael McCallister was voted the third best-performing boss in the country in 2006 by Forbes.
• According to Knoxnews.com, in late November Humana became a presenting sponsor for three events at Dollywood.
• Humana also presents the annual Humana Festival of New American Plays at Louisville's Actors Theatre. Rick Pender regularly reports from the annual event.
• In 1996, Humana was caught up in controversy. Former employee Linda Peeno blew the whistle on the managed health care industry and testified before Congress about her experiences working for Humana and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
