Looking to add some serious badass cred to your life and don’t mind getting (more than a few) bumps and bruises along the way? If you’re 18 or older, the Cincinnati Rollergirls want you.
Whether you’re looking for an excuse to lace up some old-school roller skates or never miss an opportunity to blow the whistle, the Rollergirls have spots available for skaters, referees and volunteers. Even if you haven’t donned a pair of skates since those skate parties back in elementary school — or maybe not since roller skating’s heyday in the 1970s — you’ll still have a shot at joining ranks with the area’s first all-female, amateur roller derby team. So dust off those roller skates and hit the rink at The Skatin’ Place.
9 a.m.-noon. Free. The Skatin’ Place, 3211 Lina Place, Colerain Township, cincinnatirollergirls.com.
