It never really matters which team is ranked higher when it comes to the Crosstown Shootout. Xavier has beaten UC twice when the Bearcats were ranked No. 1 in the country, so when it comes to this local rivalry and the Skyline Chili-sponsored pride at stake, anything can happen. That’s why the fact that UC is ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since 2006 and Xavier isn’t even on the list of teams receiving votes doesn’t necessarily mean the ’Cats will win the game. It’s early in the season and both teams are still working through some chemistry issues, though UC’s resume has been more impressive so far. The Bearcats beat two ranked teams during an early season tournament and had No. 17 Gonzaga all but finished before falling in overtime. Xavier has losses to Baylor and Marquette, but will enjoy home-court advantage. If you want tickets you’ll have to talk to a street person or one of your rich friends.
