Five local kids from the School for Creative and Performing Arts will star in MTV's new reality musical, Taking the Stage. The 10-part show follows these students in their senior year as they prepare for life after graduation, highlighting their hard work and dedication to their craft and the teenage pitfalls and drama along the way.

Episodes air Thursday at 10 p.m. and feature the kids preparing for the schools' fall talent show. Executively produced by SCPA alum Nick Lachey, the show attempts to show what life is really like for these talented teens as they take the stage and reach for their dreams.
