An ambitious counselor (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) with a marriage and relationship consulting firm for wealthy clients struggles within the confines of the organization and under the strain of her own marriage to her childhood sweetheart (Lance Gross) that seems to be slipping into a rut. So, when a super-rich smoothie (Robbie Jones) shows interest, things spiral out of control in Tyler Perry’s Temptation. The film marks an intriguing detour for Perry. While he’s known for inserting moralistic lessons into his more dramatic fare, Temptation seems eager to linger on the sex and sensuality. How tempting that is for the broader audience that hasn’t jumped on the Tyler Perry bandwagon remains to be seen. Now in theaters. (PG-13) Not screened in time for review
