If you've ever wondered why Cincinnati doesn't have more live Hip Hop shows, this week Corryville club Top Cat's makes a run at being the top local source for the best of the genre. Besides Saturday's appearance by locals Phammilly Impulze and Wednesday's CD release appearance by local duo Definition (see Spill It), Friday night brings a show by West Coast Hip Hop crew Tha Liks (also known as Tha Alkaholiks). The group which features former Cincinnatians E Swift and Tash emerged from the underground in the early '90s with their brand of solidly-performed Hip Hop for the party-inclined. Tha Liks are currently supporting their most recent release, X.O. Experience, which critics have hailed as the best of their career.

At Top Cat's on Friday with fellow Likwit Crew member Defari and the collective Living Legends.
