As the year turns, national concerts start to pick up again as artists get back out on the road to support their albums after the holiday season. Of course, it hasn't quite picked up yet, so we'll give this week's Gig o' the Week to one of the city's long-running "after work" parties. The monthly Thank Van Gogh It's Friday series presents its January concert/shindig this week with venerable R&B supergroup The Bluebirds providing the soulful sounds. The shows get started at 5:30 p.m. and besides great music, attendees get pizza and other snacks, plus admission to the museum. The museum is also providing shuttle service from downtown at the Parking Company of America lot at Gilbert Ave. Call 421-ARTS for details.
