We’re never safe from the paranormal, not even in the heart and heat of the summer. Scaremeister James Wan (helmer of a couple of the Saw movies and the emerging Insidious saga) presents the story of renowned paranormal investigators (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) who encounter something even they aren’t prepared for when they seek to help a family (Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor play the parents) find out what’s behind the strange events taking place at their farmhouse. My spidey senses tell me that there might be something going on here that’s worth checking out. Now in theaters. (R) Not screened in time for review.
