A train accident in Cincinnati’s Queensgate area Sunday may continue to affect residents and business owners this week.
Several train cars derailed on the CSX Railroad bridge and leaked about 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel during overnight hours on Jan. 24, the Associated Press reports. No injuries were reported, and crews were able to contain the spill.
WLWT-TV reports that power was interrupted for the area. Officials say that it may take several days to resolve all issues stemming from the accident..
“This spill has been contained and no waterways have been impacted, but Gest Street has been closed as a precaution and to facilitate cleanup,” CSX says in a statement to WLWT. “CSX appreciates the rapid response from local first responders and we are committed to working swiftly and safely to recover the derailed cars and fully restore the area. The cause of the incident is under investigation.”
Reddit user "scottsullivan" posted a drone video of the train derailment to the communication platform on Sunday.
