4. Pepp & Dolores
    1501 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine
”This carry-out was just what I needed this week as my special dinner for making it to Friday, day 50 of 94% solitary confinement. Rather than eating out of the box like the hermit I've become, I plated it with the respect it deserved. I had the house made ricotta bread. Wedge salad. And Gricia. All of it was amazing with a special treat of crunchy little cookies to finish it off. ” — Angela E.

Sartre OTR
    1910 Elm St., Over-the Rhine
Upscale Over-the-Rhine eatery Sartre closed its doors after the new year. The restaurant was located beneath Rhinegeist Brewery and opened in the fall of 2017.
The name behind French(ish) brasserie was conceived as a playful homage to philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. The eatery served up a changing menu of snacks, shareables and mains with a Parisian bistro sensibility. The space has since been transformed into OTR Chili Co., a Cincinnati-style chili parlor.

Made with Tito’s vodka, house tomatillo bloody mary mix and cold-pressed Super Greens juice (kale, celery, spinach, romaine and pineapple), it’s topped off by a purple cabbage accouterment. Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club
    860 Elm St., Ludlow
Northern Kentucky’s Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club was considered a “total loss” after a barge struck the floating restaurant in the early morning hours of Oct. 2, dragging some of it down the river and sinking the rest. That effectively ended the marina's season, as you might expect — and led to questions about whether the attraction would reopen at all. According to owners Steve and Andrea Gott, “while the future for LBYC remains unclear and there are a lot of challenges to face, all I can say is thanks from the bottom of our hearts & I WILL BE BACK.”

The steakhouse opened in the fall and has revamped the space to offer a non-traditional take on the typical white-tablecloth concept, featuring casual seating arrangements for diners, a bar and a patio that overlooks Washington Park and Music Hall.
