Tonight (Oct. 19) is the October installment of Signs & Songs, a (nearly) monthly Americana music series that takes place at the American Sign Museum. Hosted by Cincinnati Folk singer/songwriter Jake Speed, the event focusses on different aspects of American Roots music with each installment and examines connections to Cincinnati's rich musical heritage.
October's Signs & Songs features acclaimed group the Cincinnati Dancing Pigs, who carry on the overlooked but crucial legacy of American "jug bands."
Future S&S events will feature singer/songwriter Kim Taylor (Nov. 16), veteran ensemble the Comet Bluegrass All-Stars (Jan. 18), Blues/Boogie Woogie pianist Ben Levin with The Heaters (Feb .15) and New Orleans-style traditional Jazz outfit The Hot Magnolias (March 15).
The SIgns & Songs events begin at 7 p.m. and admission is $15 in advance (available here) or $20 at the door.
