Mecklenburg Gardens, the historic Cincinnati German restaurant and beer garden, invites you to travel to Munich this New Year’s Eve, without the jetlag.
Ring in the New Year German-style with the restaurant’s annual Midnight in Munich party, featuring a special German buffet with roasted pig, Glühwein (warm, spiced wine), a champagne and large pretzel toast at 6 p.m. (midnight Munich time), live accordion music and possibly one of the strangest German NYE traditions: a looped screening of Dinner for One, a black-and-white short comedy film about an old, upper-class English woman’s 90th birthday that has nothing to do with New Year’s Eve. The film is played on multiple German television stations every Dec. 31.
5 p.m.-midnight. $30. Mecklenburg Gardens, 302 E. University Ave., Corryville, 513-221-5353, mecklenburgs.net.
