Now held Sep. 18-27, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati has called off its giant in-person party and transferred things online and into smaller venues across the city — specifically restaurants and bars — to host Oktoberfest “In Za Haus,” with special Bavarian-inspired dishes and brews.
One of those venues, Cincinnati-based restaurant chain Frisch’s Big Boy, has rolled out several new seasonal menu items to commemorate America’s largest Oktoberfest, including two dishes that feature a beer cheese infused with Fat Tire ale from New Belgium Brewing.
Frisch’s new Beer Cheese Burger, “the official burger of Oktoberfest Zinzinnati,” is made with a quarter-pound beef patty, covered in Fat Tire Beer Cheese and topped with onion rings, pickles, red onions and spicy brown mustard on a pretzel bun. In addition to the burger they have also added pretzel sticks to the menu, served with the same Fat Tire Beer Cheese.
They’ve also released some pumpkin-flavored bites, including their beloved pumpkin pie, plus pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin pie pancakes and pumpkin spice caramel cake.
“Frisch’s Big Boy is excited to bring some excitement to our neighborhoods with the official burger of Oktoberfest Zinzinnati – as well as some tastes of autumn with expanded Frisch’s Pumpkin Pie offerings,” said Jason Vaughn, president and CEO of Frisch’s Big Boy, in a press release.
The Oktoberfest-inspired and pumpkin-flavored eats, in addition to the rest of their menu, are available for dine-in, carry-out, drive-thru and delivery through third party businesses.
