Cincinnati chili chain Gold Star Chili is thanking those who served our country by offering free meals for veterans and active-duty military this Veterans Day.

“Gold Star is proud to, again, celebrate our neighbors who have served in the Armed Forces this Veterans Day. Our offering a complimentary meal to them on Veteran’s Day is a Gold Star tradition that is an extension of our commitment to serving our community,” Gold Star President and CEO Roger David said in a press release. “It is a privilege to serve those who serve us and keep our community safe. We look forward to providing a delicious meal for them once again.”

All day Monday, veterans and military can receive a free meal up to $12 in value at all 60-plus Gold Star locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. You just need to present one of the following forms of military identification to receive the offer:

  • U.S. Uniformed Services ID card or U.S. Uniformed Services Retired ID card
  • Any veterans’ organization membership card (VFW, American Legion, etc.)
  • Military commendation, leave or earnings statement
  • Photograph in uniform
  • Serviceman or woman in uniform

Gold Star says in 2023, it served over 4,000 meals to current and former military service members on Veterans Day.
