Filmmaker Andy Licardi premieres his latest “audio/visual experiment” Scumbags and Scholars, a skate video consisting of seven years of footage filmed on a Sony vx1000. Many of the skilled skateboarders Licardi filmed between 2005 and 20012 — like locals Alex Davis, Jordan West and Scott Zellner — have grown up and come into their own career-wise, so it should prove interesting to see the trajectory of their past work in one film.
If you stay for the post-video entertainment, skater-favorite band The Harlequins and an unnamed “special guest” headliner will play some music to round out the evening’s festivities.
