Eden Park’s Krohn Conservatory is letting patrons take home a piece of their greenhouse this week.
The conservatory is hosting a plant sale Jan. 19-22, with a variety of Asiatic/Oriental lilies and hydrangeas available.
Both varieties of lilies are known for their generous size, vibrant colors and pleasant aroma. They typically grow to be about two feet and bloom in the summer; however, the conservatory adapted them to bloom in the winter. The plants are priced at $8 per pot and can remain potted, or bulbs can be planted in the spring and will bloom annually.
The “florist hydrangeas” come in blue or white and thrive in protected areas inside but can also be planted outside in light shade. They are priced at $5 per pot and are currently about eight inches tall but grow to be 3-4 feet. Krohn Conservatory notes that these bloom May-June when planted in outside.
The pre-order sale went live today, Jan. 18, and guests may order a maximum of 10 plants, as the flower supply is limited. Register and pre-order plants online to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Jan. 19-22.
The conservatory’s website asks customers to call 513-421-4086 roughly 15 minutes before arrival and the team will have your order ready. If you’re in need of an alternative pick-up, ask for Lisa Givens to coordinate.
