It comes as nearly no surprise to well-seasoned Cincinnatians that we woke up to some snow across the Queen City in late April — unpredictable weather is kind of our thing. But last night’s snowfall was actually slightly significant in that it broke a 120-year record.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington tweeted this morning (April 21) that Northern Kentucky’s CVG Airport received 2.3 inches of snow, breaking the 1901 record of 1.5 inches.

Local social media channels have been flooded with photographs of white dustings and mixed feelings toward the uninvited wintery guest — some admiring the beauty, others annoyed with Mother Nature’s “gift.”
The Cincinnati Zoo tweeted a photo of Willow the cheetah venturing out into the cold, as well as an image of the Zoo Blooms with frosty snow on top.
