Punk Rock bands Dropkick Murphys and Rancid are bringing their co-headlining “Boston to Berkeley II” tour to Cincinnati this summer.
These shows are a sequel to the nationwide tour the bands took together in 2017.
The “Boston to Berkeley II” tour — which was originally scheduled to begin in May 2020 but was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic — will stop at the Andrew J Brady ICON Music Center on Aug. 18, where the bands will perform on the outdoor stage after opening act, The Bronx.
Dropkick Murphys and Rancid add to the strong Rock lineup that the ICON Music Center has in store for this summer, which kicks off on July 18 with the Foo Fighters.
“Can’t wait to get back out there and kick the touring door open again,” says Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey in a press release. “This is a great lineup, and we are going to take the country by storm.”
Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, who is also the president of Hellcat Records, and bandmate Lars Frederiksen discovered Dropkick Murphys in 1997 and quickly signed them to their new label. The bands have since worked closely together despite being on opposite sides of the country.
Tickets for the Cincinnati show will go on sale at 10 a.m. June 18 at ticketmaster.com and iconmusiccenter.com.
