Need a Girl Scout cookie fix but aren’t sure where to find a box? Now the cookies can come directly to you.
The Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road (GSKWR) have partnered with DoorDash through March 27 to get the goods delivered right to your door — at least if you live in parts of Northern Kentucky.
Customers in Erlanger, as well as Lexington and Ashland, can head to DoorDash to place an order for cookies to either receive via delivery or to pick-up at a nearby Girl Scout Cookie booth. And for every cookie order over $25, DoorDash will offer a free box of cookies with the code “GIRLSCOUTS.” All GSKWR DoorDash purchases benefit the troop, and are fulfilled, tracked and managed by the scouts.
This year, the Girl Scouts debuted a new cookie flavor: Adventurefuls, described as a “brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt.” Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties and other favorites are available as well.
DoorDash delivery is available 5-7 p.m. Fridays and noon-2 p.m. Saturdays. To find a Girl Scout Cookie booth in Erlanger, visit gskentucky.org. And if you don’t feel like using DoorDash — or want to order outside those hours — you can also download the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app to order directly from a local troop and have the cookies shipped to you.
It’s the scouts’ National Cookie Weekend Feb. 18-20, which helps promote the Girl Scout Cookie Financial Literacy Program. The program supports “the critical entrepreneurship and financial skills that remain with these young females throughout their entire life,” says a release, and is “the largest female entrepreneurial program in the world.”
“Girls develop budgeting, customer service and money management skills through cookie sales, helping them become financially empowered and proud leaders,” says Susan Douglas, CEO of GSKWR, in a release.
Proceeds from cookie sales help fund camps, troops, programs and more and constitute 80% of GSKWR’s annual operating budget.
Cookie season ends March 27.
