A new concept from Epic Brands, which owns popular Greater Cincinnati restaurants like Agave & Rye, Cowboy Sally’s and SOB Steakhouse, is opening in Covington this October.

Tokyo Pie will blend the neon-illuminated nightlife of Tokyo with a menu of Japanese-inspired pizzas and craft cocktails. The pizza and cocktail bar will open at 633 Madison Ave., next door to the Covington Agave & Rye location on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

“Tokyo Pie is about breaking the rules of flavor and experience,” Yavonne Sarber, CEO and founder of Epic Brands, said in a press release. “We set out to create a place where Covington can feel the pulse of Tokyo nightlife — every bite, every sip, every moment designed to feel electric.”

The menu features pizzas reimagined through a Japanese lens, made with a 72-hour cold-fermented dough and layered with umami flavors like miso cream, wagyu sausage, bonito flakes and shiso.

Signature pies include:

Tokyo Flame — Crispy pepperoni, umami red sauce, toasted bene seeds and honey chili

Ebi — Garlic shrimp, miso cream, torn shiso, bonito flakes and a togarashi drizzle

Sōsēji — Wagyu sausage, blistered shishito peppers and crispy garlic

Kinoko — Roasted Japanese mushrooms and charred scallions on a miso cream base

The menu will also offer Japanese street food–inspired hand pies and crust dips, like miso buffalo, mirin blue cheese and yuzu ranch. And the cocktail program will feature six Japanese-inspired signature cocktails served with dramatic flair, like fire and fog, as well as in custom Japanese glassware. Guests can also try frozen cocktails, sake-focused drinks and other Instagrammable beverages.

Tokyo Pie will also offer a vibrant nightlife experience. The black and white minimalistic aesthetic is offset by pulses of neon, with fiber-optic streaks across the ceiling and a custom Tokyo-inspired mural. Every Thursday through Saturday after 10 p.m., Tokyo Pie’s giant LED walls will stream live DJ sets from places like Tokyo, Berlin, Ibiza and more.

Those same walls will also broadcast all the major regional sporting events, from the Bengals and Reds to the Bearcats, Buckeyes and Wildcats. Tokyo Pie will open early every Saturday and Sunday for the games.

Once open, Tokyo Pie’s hours of operation will be:

  • Monday: 4 p.m. to midnight
  • Tuesday: 4-11 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 4 p.m. to midnight
  • Thursday-Friday: 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. to midnight
