Island Dreams Open Air 8 p.m. Aug. 18 Experience the Madison Live! rooftop complete with “thumping baselines and late night grooves” from ChaseWest. The LA-based creator is inspired by hip-hop and soul and is emerging from the underground scene after gaining recent support from big names like John Summit and Jamie Jones. ARTclectic Afternoon Tea 1-4 p.m. Aug. 19 ARTclectic Gallery supports locally-made art and artists by promoting their work. This weekend, it will host an afternoon tea party in honor of Afternoon Tea Week, which is celebrated internationally and began as an English tradition in the 1840s. Relax, wind down and visit with friends and family while you experience full-service tea time. Nook Brew Fest 1-4 p.m. Aug. 19 Nook Brew Fest at Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill promises an inaugural event of beer tasting, food trucks and entertainment. Over 40 breweries will be there to represent their craft sips, including beloved fall brews. Bourbon Baron Ball 6-10 p.m. Aug. 19 We’re not sure which is more exciting, the bourbon, The Tillers’ performance or the positive charitable outcome. This bourbon and bluegrass celebration will take place at the first Bourbon Baron Ball. Hosted by The Party Source, the Ball will take place at MegaCorp Pavilion in Newport. Joining The Tillers famed folksy tunes will be local favorite Arlo McKinley along with various local distillers sampling their finest drinks. Summermusik 2023: A Night in Havana 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19 The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra presents A Night in Havana as part of its mainstage Summermusik event series. Taking place at the School of Creative and Performing Arts’ Corbett Theatre, an evening of Cuba’s rich musical traditions will feature 10-time Grammy Award winning trumpet player, Arturo Sandoval.
