The Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) is spreading holiday cheer with a new light projection show, starting this week.

Starting Thursday, Dec. 4, the museum will be open late on both Thursday and Friday nights for CAM Nights and Holiday Lights. While CAM is always open late on Thursdays, extended Friday hours will be special for the holiday season. The extended hours run 5-8 p.m. both nights.

The museum partnered with BLINK to put on CAM Nights and Holiday Lights, a holiday-themed projection light show that will be held outside in the Alice Bimel Courtyard. Chaske Haverkos, a Cincinnati-based motion designer, 3D animator and three-time BLINK artist, designed the show, which will be accompanied by festive music. The show will play in regular intervals along the courtyard wall.

“Sharing public art that is for and by the community is at the core of BLINK’s mission. We’re thrilled to be able to support CAM Nights and Holiday Lights and see Chaske’s incredible vision and creativity come to life once again,” Leslie Mooney, executive director of BLINK, said in a press release.

The museum’s Terrace Cafe will also have heated globes diners can reserve to enjoy the show along with their meal. Globes can seat four to six people, and you can reserve one by calling 513-639-2986.

Along with the light show, museum visitors can also tour the museum’s collection galleries and three exhibits, including its newest, What, Me Worry? The Art and Humor of MAD Magazine. This exhibit is ticketed, but can be viewed for free on Thursday evenings.

CAM Nights and Holiday Lights runs through Dec. 26, but the museum will be closed on Christmas Day. Admission is free.
