
Cincinnati Ballet will make its 2018-19 Season a celebration of Music Director Carmon DeLeone’s 50th anniversary, and will also more performances than before. There will also be five world premieres. Here is the schedule, announced today:
September 13-23: The Kaplan New Works Series will highlight four world premieres — one by San Francisco Ballet dancer Myles Thatcher, one by Resident Choreographer Jennifer Archibald, and two new works by Cincinnati Ballet dancers.It will be in the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater.
October 25-28: The Company will bring to Music Hall the full-length ballet Peter Pan, with music composed by DeLeone in 1996.
December 13-24: The Nutcracker at Music Hall will expand to 15 performances.
February 14-17: The Sleeping Beauty, like Nutcracker featuring a score by Tchaikovsky, will be at Music Hall for Valentine’s Day weekend.
March 21-24: The Ballet presents at Music Hall Director’s Cut: Firebird + Rite of Spring, works by Adam Hougland set to the music of Stravinsky. This double-bill will be performed alongside the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
March 30-April 7: Cincinnati Ballet Family Series occurs at the Aronoff Center, with Aladdin featuring the Cincinnati Ballet Second Company.
April 25-28: Bold Moves, at the Aronoff Center, will feature Jiří Kylián’s Sechs Tänze, described as “a whimsical take on the aristocratic era” set to the music of Mozart. And there will be a world premiere of Artistic Director Victoria Morgan’s Dancing to Oz, including an original score by DeLeone.
