A couple local professional roller skaters showed off their stylish moves on the Today Show on April 14.

Dylan Morton and Natalie Hickox represented Cincinnati on the Today Show while promoting Flipper’s 2023 Roller Boogie Palace at Rockefeller Center.

According to a news release from Skate Downtown Cincy, Flipper’s has a long history of hosting skilled roller skaters from around the world and other household names like Cher, Gene Simmons, Olivia Newton-John, and Robin Williams since 1979. Last season, Flipper’s featured celeb skaters like Usher, Floyd Mayweather, Mary J. Blige and others.

Morton is a professional roller skater with various different styles: jam skating, rhythm skating, JB, New York, and partner skating. He teaches skate workshops at the Over-the-Rhine Community Center and has performed roller routines on stage with Usher and Pink, and last year skated on stage during the European Music Awards and the American Music Awards.

Hickox is a jam and rhythm skater who travels to national skate events with Cincinnati-based Reckless Sk*rs skate crew. She skated in Smale Park in the 2022 Cincy Parks Hats’ Off event.

According to the release, Skate Downtown Cincy raises awareness and support for downtown Cincinnati’s public skating facilities and social wellness programs. The program is a partnership with Cincy Parks, Cincinnati Parks Foundation, and Cincinnati Recreation Commission.
