If you want to meet some pretty “ducking” awesome birds and learn more about local efforts to save them, here’s your chance: local waterfowl rescue and rehabilitation farm Longbottom Bird Rescue announced its plans for its annual Birds & Brews tour across the region.

This is the third year for Longbottom’s Birds & Brews, a special tour of regional breweries where attendees can meet some of the rescue’s feathered residents and learn more about its mission to save and rehabilitate abandoned domestic waterfowl and educate the public about these birds. At each stop, attendees can meet some of Longbottom’s ambassador ducks and geese.

The tour will kick off Saturday, Aug. 30 with Duck-A-Palooza from 3-6 p.m. at Urban Artifact. Guests can mingle with birds and browse merch, which will include a limited-edition Longbottom T-shirt, designed by local artist and bird enthusiast Adam Brandt (@Micro.Blimps). There will also be raffles and a silent auction featuring prizes donated by local businesses and sports teams. All proceeds from the T-shirt sales and the auction will go directly toward Longbottom’s work.

Additional Birds & Brews tour stops include:

  • Sept. 6 from 3-6 p.m. at The Void Sake Co. (Lexington)
  • Sept. 13 from 1-5 p.m. at HighGrain Taproom & Kitchen in Silverton
  • Sept. 20 from 1-4 p.m. at Guggman Haus Brewing Co. (Indianapolis)
  • Sept. 27 from 1-5 p.m. at HighGrain, Brentwood Brewpub in Springfield Township
  • Oct. 6 from 4-10 p.m. at Blue Stallion Brewing Co. (Lexington)
