An exhibit displaying nearly 50 pieces highlighting the works and influence of Rembrandt will open at the Taft Museum of Art on Saturday, Feb. 7.

Titled Rembrandt: Masterpieces in Black and White, the the show displays etchings collected by Rembrandt House Museum, located at Rembrandt’s old house and studio in Amsterdam.

Rembrandt: Masterpieces in Black and White present the depth and breadth of Rembrandt’s etching subjects, including portraits, self-portraits, scenes from daily life, landscapes, narrative scenes and still lifes,” according to the Taft Museum’s website. “A select group of etchings by Rembrandt’s contemporaries, as well as later admirers including James McNeill Whistler and Pablo Picasso, demonstrate the Dutch master’s enduring influence.”
