Are you ready for the coolest show in the universe? We’re a little over a month away from a rare total solar eclipse — one of which will actually put its path of totality within the Greater Cincinnati area — and a Northside brewery is offering the chance to learn more about it from an astronomy expert.

On April 8, the moon will fully obscure the sun, causing a visible solar corona to the naked eye for a few precious minutes. Former Cincinnati Observatory astronomer and public speaker, author and educator Dean Regas will be at Urban Artifact on Wednesday, March 6 for its free monthly Science on Tap to talk about this spectacular celestial event.

Urban Artifact says its Science on Tap is a forum where the public can connect with science educators and researchers and learn about the latest scientific research and its practical applications. The Total Solar Eclipse Science on Tap will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Radio Artifact Studio. During the program, Regas will share his adventures traveling around the world in search of solar eclipses and why the April 8 one is so special. Afterward, he’ll sign books and attendees can buy eclipse-viewing glasses.

Urban Artifact brews and new-school barbecue from Parts and Labor will also be available for purchase.
