Ash American Fare

Ash American Fare

Ash American Fare in Hyde Park closed on New Year’s Day after a packed New Year’s Eve.

Owner Alex Mchaikhi is stepping down after nearly 30 years in the restaurant business. Mchaikhi, who also owns M next door to Ash, rebranded the space, which housed his former Indian-fusian restaurant Cumin, into the New American restaurant and burger spot last year. M — the wood-fired pizzeria and casual eatery — will remain open under its current chef and general manager and Mchaikhi will still be involved in operations.
The Ash space (3520 Erie Ave.) will be leased to Cafe Mediterranean. This will be the second location for the Blue Ash-based restaurant, which serves traditional Middle Eastern dishes. Owner Fahri Ozdil is hoping to open in a couple of months.
