Local breakfast and brunch chain Sleepy Bee Cafe — with locations in Oakley, Blue Ash and downtown — has opened a new fast-casual concept in Avondale on Cincinnati Children's Hospital's campus, across from the Ronald McDonald House.
Taking over the former Waggle eatery space which opened in late 2019 — also owned by the brand — Sleepy Bee on the Fly is a build-your-own eatery (think Chipotle) featuring Sleepy Bee faves you can customize. Make your own scramble, bowl or pancake or get a fan favorite, like the Avi, Bee Cakes or Broakley breakfast sandwich.
"Designed for those looking for something both delicious and quick, On The Fly will carry on the tradition of Sleepy Bee Cafe, focusing on community, quality, and health," says a release.
To build your own scramble or bowl, start with a base like egg, quinoa or tofu and then add meat (or vegan meat), veggies, cheese and sauce. You can also build your own sandwich or order from pancake specials and soups.
The menu is available for dine-in or delivery via DoorDash.
