Queen City Brewery of Cincinnati, located in Blue Ash, announced its plans to close down in a Facebook post today (Aug. 1).

According to the post, the brewery plans to close by the end of September, "or sooner...depends on how long the beer we have left lasts us."

The brewery goes on to explain the passion which led them to open the business, and that the reasoning behind the closure is due to the changing industry and customers wanting more than they were able to give.

"We are about solid beer, people and the community. Not fads or trends," the post reads.

Since opening in 2016, the brewery spent a lot of its efforts on giving back to the community by raising funds for various organizations. And while they spent time trying to build that bond with their neighbors and the Greater Cincinnati area, they weren't able to reach the relationship they strived for.

"In order for a small business like ours to succeed, we relied on the local community to support us, just as we supported the local community. For whatever reason, we were never fully embraced," the post reads.

The brewery gives its thanks for the supporters who have visited over the past three years and invites guests to come back in for $5 beers as well as a fire sale on merchandise and other items until their closure.
