National Farmers Market Week is Aug. 1-7, and Findlay Market is celebrating with free food samples from local farmers — plus a new local beer.

Market neighbor Sam Adams has partnered with Findlay to craft a special “From the Market” lager.

The lager will be infused with ingredients from market merchants, including “white tea leaves from Churchill’s Fine Teas, cardamom from Colonel De Gourmet Herbs & Spices, and orange zest from ETC Produce & Provisions and Roth Produce,” reads a release.

The 5.3% ABV brew has 12 IBUs and is described as a “clean and crisp German Pils.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Findlay Market and show our support for our local farmers market during National Farmers Market Week,” said Sam Adams Cincinnati Taproom Head Brewer Chris Siegman. “Being able to source fresh, vibrant ingredients from the market and brew a beer that showcases the best of what we both do is a great feeling.”

The From the Market lager will be on tap at Jane’s Bar (in the former Findlay Biergarten space) starting Aug. 1. And if you get to Jane’s between 1 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 1, you just might get some free Sam Adams swag.

The beer will also be available in the market-adjacent Sam Adams taproom (1727 Logan St., Over-the-Rhine), where they will be donating $1 of every pint sold to the nonprofit Corporation for Findlay Market to assist “small business entrepreneurship programs, community-building initiatives, food access projects and sustainability efforts,” reads a release.

And on Aug. 12, there will be a celebratory happy hour at the Sam Adams taproom to commemorate the brew and “cheers to a great cause,” said Corporation for Findlay Market Director of Development Gina Regan.
