MadTree Brewing is set to open another suburban location later this summer.

“Alcove-Summit Park” is the brand’s fourth location, joining their flagship taproom in Oakley, their American bistro Alcove in Over-the-Rhine, and their restaurant and taproom Parks & Rec in Blue Ash.

Alcove, MadTree’s elevated American bistro concept, first opened in OTR in 2022 and is known for its fresh seasonal food, greenhouse bar and cocktails that sit alongside MadTree’s product offerings like craft beer and Sway canned drinks. The second Alcove will be housed in the former Brown Dog Cafe space at 1000 Summit Place in Blue Ash, located right at the heart of the expansive Summit Park.

“Guests will love stepping into the nook of nature alongside the 130-acre world-class park. Alcove is a natural fit at Summit Park,” said Rhiannon Hoeweler, MadTree’s VP of Experience & Impact. “The city of Blue Ash, its citizens, and the surrounding community have been so welcoming and supportive of MadTree and we look to grow the relationships with our second Alcove. As a part of that commitment, a portion of Alcove in Summit Park’s revenue will be donated back to Blue Ash Parks and Recreation to support and maintain Summit Park’s sustainability efforts, just like MadTree Parks & Rec.”

Additional features will be unveiled closer to summer, including a private event space and patio. The entire guest experience will be designed to complement the natural elements of Summit Park.

“We believe this is the perfect spot for the next iteration of Alcove, a concept different from the needs served at MadTree Parks & Rec,” Hoeweler told CityBeat. “Parks & Rec provides the perfect casual space for families and activities for every age. Alcove provides an upscale experience through its unique menu and service style. What you’ll still get is the warmth, drive to exceed expectations and high-quality experiences you’ve come to expect from MadTree.”

City leaders in Blue Ash discussed their excitement for the continued partnership with the brewery.

“Alcove in Summit Park is an exciting addition to Blue Ash … The new restaurant will welcome all types of people to utilize and enjoy park amenities.” said Blue Ash Parks and Recreation Director Brian Kruse. “We’re looking forward to bringing the energy MadTree has cultivated in OTR to our community.”
