John Wesly Coleman Jr., the co-owner of the popular Revel OTR Urban Winery, passed away while vacationing in Florida on March 27. He was 51 years old.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Wesly Coleman Jr.," the winery wrote on social media March 29. "His passing leaves a void in our hearts and community that will be deeply felt. JC was more than a business owner; he was a community leader, a friend and a family man who touched the lives of all who knew him."

Services for Coleman will be held this Friday and Saturday, with a visitation at Spring Grove Funeral Homes (4389 Spring Grove Ave., Spring Grove Village) Friday, April 5 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., another visitation at The Vineyard Church (11340 Century Circle E., Springdale) on Saturday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to noon with the funeral following immediately after.

Those who knew Coleman say he was known for his welcoming nature and involvement in the community. He served on the boards of the OTR Chamber and Finneytown Foundation. He also loved his family, coaching his sons' football and basketball teams and taking up the position of president of the Coleman Family Reunion for the Ohio Chapter.

"Family always came first for John, who never hesitated to show his love and support to those around him," reads his obituary.

In honor of Coleman's legacy of giving back, a memorial scholarship fund in his name has been set up for the foundation at Finneytown High School, where Coleman graduated from. You can donate here.

Coleman is survived by his wife, Amy, and two sons, Wesly and Langston.
