Biscuit Love 1602 Pleasant St., Over-the-Rhine Another new addition to the OTR neighborhood, Biscuit Love is a breakfast and brunch concept that originally hails from Nashville, but OTR’s location is the chain’s first in Ohio and the first outside the Southeast region. The menu offers both breakfast and lunch favorites with a twist centered around its biscuits. Fan favorites include the “Bonuts” (fried biscuit dough tossed in sugar, topped with lemon mascarpone and served with blueberry compote); the “East Nasty” (a buttermilk biscuit topped with a fried boneless chicken thigh, aged cheddar and sausage gravy); the “B-Roll” (a biscuit cinnamon roll topped with a pecan sticky bun sauce and cream cheese icing); and the “Princess” (a buttermilk biscuit topped with a Nashville-style spicy boneless “hot chicken” thigh, pickles, mustard and honey). The menu also features a “Without a Biscuit” section, kids’ items, a full espresso and looseleaf tea program and brunch cocktails. Photo: Provided by Biscuit Love

A new breakfast and brunch concept is now open in Over-the-Rhine. Nashville-based Biscuit Love opened at 1602 Pleasant St. in the Willkommen mixed-use development on Oct. 25.

Biscuit Love, owned by couple Karl and Sarah Worley, started as a biscuit food truck in Nashville in 2012. The Worleys went on to open the first brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2015, pivoting to a full breakfast and brunch menu while keeping their scratch-made biscuits at the heart of their operations. The chain has since expanded to have three more locations in Tennessee and one in Alabama. The OTR location will be the first in Ohio and the first beyond the Southeast region.

“We love to travel cross-country as a family in our Airstream travel trailer and visited Cincinnati once on our way to Maine,” the Worleys said in a press release this spring. “We loved it! As luck would have it, one of our former managers and now dear friend, Ashley Harris, moved to Cincinnati with her family and agreed to co-own and operate a location in town. We’re excited to expand to Ohio and invest in the local community through biscuits. We feel so grateful to have found this stunning space in OTR — it’s a beautiful corner storefront with plenty of natural light.”

Biscuit Love says Harris, the longtime manager of its Hillsboro Village location in Nashville, has been with the company since 2019 and “leads her team with positivity and encouragement, prioritizing the guest experience with impeccable service and attention to detail.”

“We are thrilled that Biscuit Love chose to partner with 3CDC as they expand to Cincinnati, and specifically OTR!” Lindzie Gunnels, commercial leasing director with 3CDC, said in the release. “Not only does this bring a new, tasty breakfast and lunch dining option to the region, it speaks to the continued growth, energy, and opportunity for businesses in Over-the-Rhine.”

3CDC says Biscuit Love has the feeling of an elevated diner — “like grandma’s kitchen with a modern flair” — with a bright, inviting dining room where everyone feels welcome.

Biscuit Love is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
