A beloved Greater Cincinnati barbecue joint is expanding to a second location, this one just steps away from the Loveland Bike Trail.
Pig Candy BBQ announced Monday that it will convert the former Branch Hill United Methodist Church in Loveland into a restaurant. The Loveland Pig Candy BBQ will be located at 370 Bridge St. and offer the same menu as its flagship location on Kellogg Avenue, with some new additions tailored to the Loveland market.
The restaurant neighbors Kirby’s Tavern and Branch Hill Coffee Shop and is just a block away from the Loveland Bike Trail.
“We are excited to bring Pig Candy BBQ to Loveland,” Paul Montgomery, co-owner of Pig Candy BBQ, said in a press release. “The neighborhood is conveniently located near the Loveland Indian Hill exit off 275 and the Loveland Bike Trail, giving our guests the opportunity to enjoy delicious BBQ on-the-go or while taking in the beautiful outdoors.”
Insomnia Design created the plans for the restaurant, which will embrace the history of the church and incorporate original elements, like the stained glass windows and bell tower. Like the flagship location, the Loveland restaurant will also have a heated deck for outdoor dining all year.
“Our first location is in a former jailhouse, so it was important to us that our second location also offers a unique experience,” Montgomery added.
Construction kicks off this week and is expected to take about six months. Pig Candy plans to open the Loveland restaurant in early fall. Once it opens, the restaurant will offer dine-in, carryout and catering.
