A popular Cincinnati plant-based juice bar and kitchen is expanding. Rooted Juicery has announced that it will open a second location, this time in Over-the-Rhine.
Rooted Juicery offers a variety of cold-pressed juices and vegan foods and first opened in Oakley Square in 2015. Aaron Kull, whose background includes 15 years in the health care and technology space, acquired the brand in February 2024 with the goal of growing it across Greater Cincinnati and beyond, with the first new location opening this spring at 1218 Vine St.
“I wanted to have a greater impact on the health of the consumer and the communities in which they live,” Kull said in a press release. “Cold-pressed juice and a natural and plant-based diet can be an incredible source of nutrition and a key factor in overall wellness. Moving into OTR allows us to become part of the downtown ecosystem, expands our footprint and allows us to serve more of Cincinnati.”
Like its flagship location in Oakley, the OTR Rooted Juicery will operate as a takeaway and offer fresh juices and smoothies, made from high-quality fruits and vegetables, nut butters, seeds, herbs and more. It’ll also have breakfast sandwiches, coffee, tea, smoothie bowls, sandwiches and wraps, salads and desserts. Most items are made in-house with clean and organic ingredients. Raw, dehydrated ingredients are also used when possible to offer more nutritional density.
The OTR store will operate as a takeaway, with many grab-and-go items, as well as non-food retail products like candles. It will also offer cleanses of clean, cold-pressed fruits, vegetables and nuts.
“With more folks looking for on-the-go, healthy options, Rooted Juicery will fill a void in the neighborhood with an array of nutrient-dense items,” said Christy Samad, 3CDC’s executive vice president of Civic & Commercial Space Activation. “Fresh, cold-pressed juice is hard to find nearby, and we’re eager to expand the list of dining options available in OTR to better serve health-conscious consumers.”
