One of Cincinnati’s most iconic restaurant chains is moving into the heart of downtown Cincinnati. Skyline Chili announced Thursday that it will open a restaurant and taproom on Fountain Square.
“Fountain Square is the heartbeat of Cincinnati, and Skyline has always been about bringing people together,” Dick Williams, Skyline’s CEO, said in a press release. “Fountain Square is where the downtown workforce gathers for lunch during the day and families and friends gather for food and entertainment at night. We also welcome many out-of-town visitors to our strengthening downtown core and hope they make Skyline Chili a part of their Cincinnati experience.”
Skyline signed a lease for the former March First Brewing space between Potbelly and City Bird at The Eateries at Fifth Third Center and plans to open in the spring. In addition to its menu of ways, coneys and more, the Fountain Square location will also feature Skyline’s first-ever beer and wine bar, plus a private party room, large dining room and a dedicated carryout and delivery space.
The brand says the move to Fountain Square reinforces its 75-plus-year connection to Cincinnati and the community and will provide a central gathering space for residents, visitors and sports fans attending games in the city’s core.
“We are excited to welcome Skyline Chili to Fountain Square,” said Thomas Ross, director of corporate real estate for Fifth Third. “This hometown favorite will be a wonderful addition to the existing local businesses at The Eateries at Fifth Third Center, as we work to create a welcoming and vibrant dining experience for everyone who visits Fountain Square.”
