One of Cincinnati’s biggest names is partnering with one of our most important cultural celebrations.

Gold Star Chili is now a sponsor of the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame, and the event leading up to the induction ceremony will now be known as the “Gold Star Parade of Stars.”

To celebrate, Gold Star is hosting a free community pep rally this Friday, July 10 to announce the collaboration and set the stage for the official Black Music Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, July 25. It will take place at the Gold Star located at 285 W. Mitchell Ave at 10:00 a.m., and will feature Alicia Reece, Hamilton County Commission Vice President and Founder of the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame.

In addition to the formal announcement and interviews, a special performance by the Q Kidz dance team will take over the restaurant floor for a live performance, bringing the spirit of the upcoming festival directly to Gold Star. Reece will also perform a special live taping of her “Soul Food” podcast during the event.

“As a 2021 Gold Star Chili Flavor of the year and founder of the award-winning Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame, I am excited to partner with Gold Star as the host of our Parade of Stars. This 15-day countdown event will build excitement leading up to the 2026 Induction Ceremony and Parade of Stars,” Reece said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing our community together for this free community celebration as we honor legendary artists, celebrate Cincinnati’s rich musical legacy, and create an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike.”

Reece founded the Black Music Walk of Fame in 2021 to honor Cincinnati’s rich history of local Black music and its profound impact on the community. It’s located just outside Paycor Stadium. Over the years, several of Cincinnati’s biggest names in music have been given stars, including Bootsy Collins, The Isley Brothers, Otis Williams, Roger & Zapp, The O’Jays, and James Brown.
