Cincinnati native Andy Biersack — aka Andy Black — is coming home for a concert at Bogart’s on April 25. Tickets for the show — which will also feature performances by The Faim and Kulick — go on sale tomorrow (Feb. 13) at 10 a.m. here.

The hometown visit is part of Biersack’s The Ghost of North America Tour, which kicks off in Sacramento, California on April 7 and takes him across the continent, with a finale in Virginia in mid-May.

Biersack (also the founder, leader and frontman for the band Black Veil Brides) will be touring in support of his The Ghost of Ohio graphic novel and concept album (his second solo full-length under the Andy Black name), which are due soon from Z2 Comics and Republic Records, respectively. (Black has been teasing some kind of announcement coming this Friday, and fans are speculating that it could a single — or more — from the project.)

The bibliographic information via Google Books offers this synopsis on the book: “There’s a myth in Southern Ohio about an apparition that seeks to live again. Taking place over 100 years, The Ghost of Ohio follows the titular spectre as he tries to unravel the mystery of his own death and fights to return to the earthly plane.”

In an Alternative Press interview last year, Biersack said the story of Ghost was inspired by his Cincinnati upbringing.

“I grew up in Southwestern Ohio,” he said. “As a kid, I was terrified of everything — all kinds of ghosts and scary things — to the point where I would have to talk to counselors and stuff about my fears. I couldn’t sleep, ever. I was constantly terrified that something was going to get me.”

“I started to look up these locations I grew up in,” he continued, “and how many crazy ghost stories there were. The park that I grew up playing in… there was a lake that I didn’t know people went to commit suicide all the time. The place that I spent all my summers was in a closed down tuberculosis hospital from the 1800s.”

Biersack says the album companion is a soundtrack to the graphic novel, and is “pretty eclectic,” with a mix of “straight-up fun pop songs” and “dark, moody, gothic songs.”

Black posted the spoken-word audio prologue from the project last week. Click here for updates on the project.

UPDATE: On Feb. 15, Andy Black’s single and music video for new track “Westwood Road” was released. It was also announced that The Ghost of Ohio album and book will be released on April 12. Pre-orders are open now.
